Amon Tobin ISAM

Amon Tobin ISAM
WORLD TOUR

Content Creation, Interactive Design, VJ

Amon Tobin ISAM was an immersive audio visual show that made a huge imprint on the world of electronic music and visual arts. The groundbreaking 3D animation, real time computer graphics using Touch Designer and 3D projection mapping pushed the 4D medium to new levels. The experience was directed by Vello Virkhaus and the team at Xite formerly (V Squared Labs) in collaboration with Amon Tobin, Leviathan and set designer Vita Motus. The stage design and visual narrative structure took the audience on a journey through Tobin’s avant-garde IDM soundscapes. The show started with an mysterious mechanical structure coming to life. This stage then turned into a ship and launched into space. We then saw Tobin in a hyper-sleep space pod on a futuristic cockpit of the ship. He later wakes up after a series of wild hallucinatory dream like pieces, and comes out at the end of the show in the same space suit used in the 3D animations. This was a striking reveal.

ISAM 1.0 Tour

The experience first premiered at the prestigious Mutek in June of 2011 with great acclaim. The video wrap up reel from Mutek has over  1,611,609 views on you tube. The production then toured around the world with increasing interest and success.  Among the many different media outlets that featured the project, one of our favorites is the piece by The Creators Project, a partnership between Intel and VICE.

ISAM 2.0 Tour

After Picking up from where Amon Tobin’s ISAM Live 1.0 left at the end of 2011, ISAM Live 2.0 began with rapturous responses at two Coachella headline performances. The tour then went to Australia for two sold-out, back-to-back performances at the iconic Sydney Opera House in June. The performances, streamed live from Sydney, accumulated over 500,000 views. ISAM Live 2.0 additionally made a hugely celebrated appearance at Sonar festival in Barcelona on June 15th. The show came back one last time to play Outsidelands 2015 in San Francisco.  The ISAM Live 2.0 construction was enhanced with new audio and visual elements, including material from Tobin’s beat-orientated alias Two Fingers, taken from the ‘Stunt Rhythms’ album released September 2012 on Big Dada. Almost all ISAM Live 1.0 and 2.0 shows sold out and wowed audiences worldwide. The show was widely publicized and won numerous press accolades in magazines such as Wired, Fast Company, LA Times, Chicago Reader and Rolling Stone.
